The Kirk River was the first camp after leaving Mingela. Managed to get off the new road with some local advice which helped to pick up the old road to some extent.
Wild winds and rain through the night and a forecast of bad weather on its way, necessitated a move to a welcome shed and a day off. Fancy finding a wheelbarrow and a trolley to help with the move!!
Several trips up the hill later.....all high and dry!!
And sunshine (well almost...) by the next day!

An adventure in planning
Welcome all that have taken and interest. This blog is designed to keep those interested updated with the adventures of Coralie and Anni as they take to horseback along Australia's National Trail. The two horses you see in the picture above are "Boo" and "Con Man". A pair of book ends, as they have been nick named, or possibly twin brothers. However they came to be together, they certainly have become close com rads. These are just two of the five horses Coralie and Anni plan to take on their Australian adventure. The plan so far is to head out early May 2010 around Cairns area. The ride will take approximately 6 months and hopefully lead them close to Canberra. They will make stops along the way to bring awareness to communities on the therapeutic abilities these awesome creatures have. With the help of my dear sister, we hope to keep this blog updated so that you can follow their adventure and ride the trail with them. We hope you enjoy the ride.
